As the debate on the contribution of business intelligence to value added by firms continues, this study empirically investigated the mediating impacts of size and community on the relationship between business intelligence and value added by GCB Bank (Ghana) Limited using audited secondary data for six years (2015 – 2020). It adopted technology-organisation-environment theory. Business intelligence is the independent variable and it has two proxies (net book values of hardware and software). The dependent variable is value added by the bank. The mediating variables are bank size (total assets of the bank) and bank community (corporate social responsibility). Six literature backed hypotheses were developed and tested using OLS regression analysis and partial correlation technique, and the main findings of the study are: (i) computer hardware, software, bank size, and investment on community (CSR) have significant effects on value added by the bank; (ii) bank size did not significantly mediate the relationship between business intelligence and value added by the banks; and (iii) investment on community by way of corporate social responsibility significantly mediated the relationship between business intelligence and value added by the bank. The relevance of the TOE theory was proved; and the work strategically revealed that whereas investment in CSR significantly weakens the impact of business intelligence in value creation, banks size does not. So, it is important for bank operators to continue increasing their total assets while simulating on the optimum investment to be made in terms of corporate social responsibility. Far reaching recommendations are also given.
Following the development of social networks, understanding user behavior can help some tasks in user recommendation, information dissemination, e-commerce recommendation and etc. Due to the non-availability of user data, it is still remain challenge to predict user behavior with high accuracy. In this paper, we propose a deep neural network FDNN (Fusion Deep Neural Network) based on BLSTM to predict two kinds of user behaviors simultaneously, such as comment and retweeting. Our model utilizes BLSTM to obtain high quality embedding space for user history and the new query post. We design a concatenation layer, a hidden layer and an output layer for behavior prediction. The experimental results on Sina dataset show that the proposed method could achieve better results than other traditional methods.
Abstract. Within the framework of planar steady-state filtration of incompressible fluid according to Darcy's law, an exact analytical solution of the problem of flow in a rectangular cofferdam with a screen in the presence of evaporation from the free surface of groundwater is given. The limiting cases of the considered motion - filtration in unconfined reservoir to imperfect gallery, as well as the flow in the absence of evaporation - are noted.
The objective of this paper is to show how in today’s market, retailer offers the discount on the selling price which is treated as a promotional tool in the market. The retailer gives different types of discounts. The items have to maintain their quality throughout the horizon. An economic order quantity (EOQ) model is developing to analyse the effect of deterioration in inventory model. The non-instantaneous deteriorated item should be considered in the modeling. Those products, which deteriorate at the time, are known as instantaneous deteriorated items. Similarly, the items deteriorated after some times are known as a non-instantaneous deteriorated item. Here different discounts are offered to the customers. This article deals with the optimal ordering policies with the offers and discounts on the items with instantaneous and non-instantaneous deteriorated items. Some scenarios are also discussed in the article with the numerical explain followed by the conclusion. To support our study, we have illustrated it with a numerical example and finally sensitivity analysis is carried out for finding the effect of the parameters on the optimal solution.
