Abstract

Titanium dioxide is a naturally occurring oxide of titanium with the chemical formula TiO2. It has a wide range of applications which include its use in fabrication of nanotubes. Electrons trapped within TiO2 cause the atoms of the tube to become unstable. This leads to interatomic vibration which in turn leads to intermolecular vibration of titanium dioxide within its lattice. The aim of this work is to estimate the amount of the force of interaction between molecules of TiO2used as anode in dye-sensitized solar cells. The result obtained showed that one molecule of TiO2 has a small mass. This means that the intermolecular forces in the crystal of TiO2 is so small, and so does inter atomic forces.
